Do you have what it takes to be a Cavalier Award recipient?

  • Are you in grades 9, 10, 11 or 12?

  • Volunteer your services at PAHS?

  • Participate in school activities at PAHS?

  • Serve in any leadership roles at PAHS?

  • Been recognized for any school honors or accomplishments at PAHS?

  • Have a minimum 2.0 GPA?

Applicants must be a graduating senior in good standing from a VBCPS high school; have attended Independence MS for a minimum of two full school year;

Virginia Beach Council of PTA's Scholarship
Deadline: 4-04-14
Awards: 10+ @ $500 each
Applicants must be a graduating senior within Virginia Beach Public Schools; have a GPA of at least 3.0, with the exception of the vocational scholarship; be
a member of the school's PTSA and include supporting documentation such as a copy of the membership card; be planning to attend a university, college, or
vocational institute in the fall of 2014; submit a copy of your high school transcript and two teacher recommendations; and must include a typed essay of at

Kemps Landing Magnet School PTA Merit Scholarship
Deadline: 4-11-14
Award: $500
Must have been enrolled at Kemps Landing Magnet School for at least two full academic years and departed KLMS in good standing; matriculate at a fully accredited college, university, or vocational technical school by Fall 2014; and have maintained at least an overall high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.

What Matters Athletic Scholarship

Award: $1,000
Open to seniors who have participated on an athletic team or club. Based on writing an essay of 500-words or less. See site for details.

Awards: 16 @ $2,000 each (*1 to a qualified PAHS senior)
Seniors must have received a mimimum of 1-Varsity letter, (Cheerleaders included), minimum 2.0 GPA, financial need and must attend a college/university in Virginia Norfolk Sports Club

Malibu ES PTA ScholarshipDeadline: 4-18-14Award: 2 @ $500 eachGraduating senior from a Va Beach High School; attend MES a minimum of two years, and in the Va Beach School System for a minimum of two years prior to applying for this scholarship; plan to attend college as a full-time student; minimum 2.0 GPA; submit 2- letter of reference and a copy of your transcript.
Malibu ES PTA Scholarship

Pembroke Meadows ES PTA ScholarshipDeadline: 4-25-14Awards: 2 @ $500 eachApplicant must be a graduating senior who attended Pembroke Meadows Elementary School for a minimum of two years; have a minimum GPA of 2.7; and the
scholarship must be used for furthering the student's education at an accredited college, university, business, or technical school for Fall 2014 semeseter.
Selections will be based on academic performance, community service, character, essay, extracurricular activities, and recommendation letters.

PAHS Booster Club Scholarship

Open to PAHS Seniors who have lettered in a JV or Varsity sport, must have attended PAHS for a minimum of 2-years, this includes athletes, cheerleaders, team managers, Cavelette Dance Team, and athletic trainers.
